The University of Pittsburgh and the Pitt African American Alumni Council (AAAC) are honored to host the 2026 Black Alumni Collective Conference from May 28-31, 2026.
Conference Theme: "The Fierce Urgency of Now: Black Advocacy from Campus to Corporate to Congress"
In a moment of rapid change, the need for strong leadership and meaningful impact are greater than ever. The 2026 Black Alumni Collective National Conference embraces the theme: The Fierce Urgency of Now: Black Advocacy from Campus to Corporate to Congress. This gathering invites us to explore ways to strengthen influence and create meaningful progress across education, industry, and government. Together, we will share strategies, build connections, and accelerate change that uplifts Black communities nationwide.
The Conference will present three tracks for attendees to engage.
Campus Track (College Student Focus)
The Campus Track equips students with the tools to lead with confidence, build community, and transform their educational experiences into lasting impact. From financial literacy and personal branding to activism, wellness, and global learning, these workshops prepare students to thrive academically while positioning themselves for meaningful careers. Participants will explore how to leverage campus opportunities, amplify their voices, and create pathways of advocacy that extend far beyond graduation.
Corporate Track (Professional Development Focus)
The Corporate Track empowers Black professionals to rise, lead, and redefine success in the workplace. Sessions will focus on advancing while Black, negotiating worth, navigating bias, and building high-performance, inclusive teams. Attendees will gain practical strategies for career growth, boardroom readiness, entrepreneurship, and leveraging technology in the future of work. This track emphasizes that corporate leadership is not only about climbing the ladder but also about driving equity, innovation, and systemic change.
Congress Track (Black Political Advocacy Focus)
The Congress Track is designed for those committed to shaping policy, advancing equity, and protecting democracy through Black political advocacy. Workshops will explore the power of the Black vote, grassroots mobilization, running for office, lobbying, and building cross-community coalitions. Participants will gain insights into representation, redistricting, and combating voter suppression, while also addressing the unique challenges and opportunities of political leadership. This track equips participants to engage in the urgent fight for representation, equity, and justice at every level of government.
