You’re invited to take part in the University’s oldest traditions — now in its 106th year. During the event Flame Bearers like you will symbolically pass the Light of Learning to the next generation of students, welcoming them to the University community.
Alumni and members of the University community can serve as Flame Bearers. Mandatory virtual training will be held closer to the event date.
After the short Lantern Lighting ceremony, join your fellow Flame Bearers and incoming students for activities that commemorate the event’s long history and look toward our Pitt community’s bright future.
Attire for this event is business casual.
