African American Alumni Council General Body Meeting
Please join the Pitt AAAC Virtual Annual Meeting on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 7 pm ET. The AAAC National President Kimberly D. Williams and the Immediate Past National President Thomas Brooks will moderate a panel discussion on "Rising Above: Building Equity that Endures." You will hear the perspective of students, alumni, a university official, and other leaders engaged in social justice and equity issues. Please join us as we discuss the Pitt black experience through the generations and the national landscape for equity and social justice on university campuses.
African American Alumni Council Student Alumni Networking Reception
The AAAC Student and Alumni Networking Reception will foster connections between current students and alumni. This gathering offers a unique opportunity for attendees to engage in meaningful conversations, share experiences, and build professional relationships. It's an ideal setting for students to gain insights from alumni who have navigated their paths to success, while alumni can reconnect with their alma mater and support the next generation of leaders. This event will take place in Room 548 in the William Pitt Union.
How Our Adoptee Identities Fuel Our Activism
The Pitt Adoption Community for Education invites all Pitt alumni (and their guests) interested in issues surrounding adoption to join us for a panel discussion. The event will be on Oct 23 from 6-8 pm. Alumni interested in attending virtually should contact jom190@pitt.edu. The panel includes Pitt-affiliated adoptees who are active in various adoption communities and who have varied adoption experiences. Their stories demonstrate strength and resilience and illustrate the need for community and connection among adoptees and support across the lifespan.

Showcasing Spaces: Cantini on Campus, Walking Tour of Public Art at Pitt
Join Pitt's University Art Gallery (UAG) for a walking tour highlighting the work of Virgil Cantini, a renowned Pittsburgh artist and the first chair of the Studio Art Department. This student-led tour begins at the School of Public Health and culminates in the UAG, where a student-curated exhibition of the work of Virgil and Lucille Cantini will be on view. You will have the opportunity to learn about some very familiar works and to go behind the scenes to see lesser-known works.

Experience it for yourself during our open house activities occurring from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. See the cutting-edge spaces, technology and services. Step into the past with Archives & Special Collections: see a working 1800s printing press or horror film props and witness the future with 3D printers and digital creation tools.

Join guided, tours of the new Recreation and Wellness Center. This state-of-the-art facility in the heart of campus is a total health and wellness destination with an emphasis on integrated and holistic wellness programming and services. All tours will go off at the top of every hour and will last approximately 45 minutes.

Showcasing Spaces: University Art Gallery Open House
Stop by the lovely Frick Fine Arts Building! You may have visited the historic Cloister before but did you know that Pittsburgh’s largest academic art museum is housed in the same building? Pitt’s University Art Gallery (UAG) boasts over 3000 art works and produces a diverse range of exhibitions and public programs that support Pitt’s growing Museum Studies program.
Stop in to see our current exhibitions: Wavelengths, Earth and Ether: The Art of Lucille and Virgil Cantini, and a special installation by two contemporary artists, Jose Santiago Perez and Charmette Young, in the Gallery’s historic Rotunda. Get a glimpse behind the scenes of some rare artworks pulled from storage! Museum Studies students and gallery staff will be stationed throughout the Gallery to answer any questions and to tell you more about the UAG!

Join the the staff of the Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Programs to welcome back alumni of the Quo Vadis student organization. The long-standing student club has been in place since 1944 and provides tours to the public. Cheer on the Panthers to victory against NC State! Admission includes a full meal and three drink tickets for guests 21 years old and older.
Game time is 3:30pm.
The Tailgate will begin at 12:30pm and will continue until 3:00pm!
